It seems to imply that the station or qualities of the person spoken of had not been recognized or appreciated. The words "yet we did esteem him .. " seem to indicate some sort of error in judgement on the part of the observer (44:5) Fulfillment:- That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
