They thought they knew it all (63:9) The fact that none were led to Christ through prophecies, does not mean that the prophecies did not influence the people of Christ's time. They certainly did. They did not, however, influence everyone in the same way. To those who disbelieved, the prophecies were a barrier; to those who believed, divine confirmation (63:10) One of the most fascinating aspects of the coming of Christ, and one which is the subject of the following chapter, is that those who rejected Him, expected that He was to be their savior, that God had promised the One who would love them, help them, guide them, protect them. In their hearts and minds they knew that He should be all these things. And the truth is, He was, but only to those who believed
