Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever. Deuteronomy 4:40 (144:4) Little was spoken of spiritual qualities and eternal life. Yes, they were mentioned, but it was not the focus of God's message (144:5) There are many truths which we may know that we cannot and should not mention to a child because they are not mature enough in their development to properly understand and assimilate them. Later as adults, however, we can tell them the same truths with great benefit and without harm. (144:6)
